The Accountability department is responsible for maintaining, managing and supporting the Synergy Student Information System and supports all state STARS and federal OCR reporting requirements.
Synergy by Edupoint is the district Student Information System and provides staff, student and course management as well as many integrated features, including: gradebook, IEP management, online registration, and ParentVUE and StudentVUE access to SIS student data, attendance and gradebook.
The Student Teacher Accountability Reporting System (STARS) is a collaborative effort of the New Mexico Legislature, Public Schools and the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED). STARS is a comprehensive student, staff, and course information system that provides a standard data set for each student served by New Mexico’s 3Y/4Y – Grade 12 public education system.
The Accountability Department serves as the reporting team, supporting EPS departments in maintaining and reporting accurate, reliable STARS data as required per the per 40, 80, 120, EOY and Year-Round snapshot reporting dates. STARS data in turn supports multiple purposes, including:
- Meeting the current PED and USDE federal reporting requirements;
- Improving education decision-making through the use of high-quality decision support tools;
- Providing a longitudinal data system (LDS) of student progress and educational history over time; and
- Report timely and accurate education data to state and federal education stakeholders.
