💙💛 TEQ Viking Family,

Thank you for your continued support in making another successful and busy week at Sombrillo! We greatly appreciate your partnership and collaboration as we continue working together to support every Viking's success.

📅 Please review the attached upcoming schedules flyer to stay informed of important dates and make any necessary arrangements for your families.

Upcoming No-School Days:

Friday, 10/9/26: Four-Day Week
Monday, 10/12/26: Indigenous Peoples Day
Friday, 10/16/26: Parent-Teacher Conferences

📚 Parent-Teacher Conferences are an important opportunity for our Viking Family to come together! Please schedule your conference with your child's teacher. These meetings provide valuable time to communicate and collaborate, allowing families and teachers to share important information about school experiences, academic progress, celebrations, and areas where we can continue to grow together.

As we enjoy this extended four-day weekend, please take time to rest, recharge, enjoy your families, and share a few good books together! ❤️📖

📚💙💛 Viking Families, let's keep growing our readers! 💛💙📚

Our October Family Reading Newsletter is here! This month, we're sharing how iMSSA and LETRS screeners help us understand where our students are as readers and identify the skills they need to continue growing. Most importantly, we want to partner with families to make reading a daily habit at home. Even 10–20 minutes of reading each day can build vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, confidence, and a love of reading.

⭐ Our goal is simple: EVERY VIKING WILL READ! ⭐

Thank you for partnering with us to support, encourage, and empower our Vikings as they grow into confident readers. 📖💙💛

Go Vikings! 🛡️📚

TEQ Viking Family,

Today, we successfully completed our Viking Voyage Fundraiser Walk! We are Vikings! 🛡️💙 Not even the sprinkles of rain or the cool breeze could keep us from completing our healthy walking fundraiser!

Our Littles completed their walk around the covered porch of the main building, staying protected from the light drizzle. Our Bigs completed the full Viking Voyage around our campus. It was wonderful to see our Vikings participating, moving, and supporting our school community together!

A special thank you to all of our families who braved the cool weather and joined us to support this special event. Your presence and partnership mean so much to our TEQ community!

Please remember: The Viking Voyage is our only schoolwide fundraiser and helps provide opportunities and resources for our Vikings, including field trips, classroom projects, and classroom supplies. Please continue collecting your pledges and turning them in using the classroom links that were shared. Every pledge and every contribution makes a difference!

Thank you for all you do to support our TEQ Viking Community! Together, we are building a community where Kindness Starts With Me and where we remember:

Every Viking. Every Day. Every Choice.

Have a wonderful, restful extended weekend! Take some time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. 💙💛❤️

TEQ Viking Family,

As we settle into the first part of the school year, we are continuing to complete our required safety drills. Today, TEQ Sombrillo completed a lockdown drill, and our students did an amazing job!

Please remember that these drills are required for compliance and are also an important part of ensuring our students and staff are prepared and know what to do in different emergency situations. Practicing these procedures helps us respond calmly, safely, and effectively when it matters most.

Please continue talking with your students about the importance of safety and security, and remind them that we take these matters seriously. We greatly appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in keeping our Vikings safe, prepared, and cared for. 💙💛

Kindness starts with me. Every Viking. Every Day. Every Choice.

📚💙💛 Viking Families, it’s time to read! 💛💙📚

We are excited to share our September Family Reading Newsletter with you! This month, we’re focusing on simple ways families can support reading at home through daily reading, meaningful conversations, exploring new words, and letting children choose books they enjoy. Even just 10–20 minutes of reading together each day can make a big difference in a child’s confidence and growth as a reader. Thank you for partnering with us as we support, encourage, and empower every Viking to rise as a reader! 📖✨ Go Vikings!
