This academic year marks a special milestone for Española Valley High School as the school proudly celebrates its 50th Anniversary during the week of April 20th. The celebration will highlight the rich history of the school, the achievements of its alumni, and the strong connection between the school and the community.
One of the featured events will be an Alumni Career Fair, where the school hopes to welcome at least 50 alumni who are willing to share their career paths and experiences with current students. The goal of the event is to inspire students by showcasing the many opportunities available after graduation. While the event focuses on alumni, community members who are not alumni but are interested in sharing their career journeys are also warmly invited to participate.
The celebration will conclude with a free community event featuring two Alumni Basketball Games at Edward Medina Gymnasium on April 23rd. The evening will include two exciting matchups — alumni girls vs. the current girls team and alumni boys vs. the current boys team. The current coaching staff will help coordinate and support the games, making it a fun and memorable event for players and spectators alike. Alumni players, please sign up using this link.
During the alumni game, attendees will also enjoy a special photo showcase highlighting 50 years of Española Valley High School history, featuring memorable moments, teams, students, and events from throughout the decades.
To make the event even more festive, food vendors and community organizations are invited to participate. Food vendors may set up outside the gym for a small vendor fee, while community providers are welcome to set up informational booths at no cost before and during the games.
Community members, alumni, and vendors interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Assistant Principal Michelle R. Martinez for more information. MichelleR.Martinez@k12espanola.org or (505) 753-7357 or (505) 901-7362
