Rookies

The Española Valley High School Bowling Team had an outstanding performance in the Albuquerque tournament at Silva Lanes on Saturday that featured 34 teams from across the state. Teams competed in four divisions: Advanced (6 teams), Intermediate (10 teams), Novice (10 teams), and Rookie (8 teams).

EVHS finished 1st place in the Rookie Division, demonstrating skill, focus, and teamwork throughout the event. The final standings for the Rookie Division were:

  1. Española Valley High School

  2. Silver City

  3. La Cueva

  4. East Mountain

  5. Las Cruces

  6. Manzano

  7. Artesia

  8. Del Norte

Rookie Team Members are Emily Chavez (9th), Eli Dominguez (9th), Rylen Holterman (11th), Martina Rodriguez-Martinez (10th), Miguel Stuwartson (9th) and Fabian Vigil (8th).

This success is especially meaningful as this is a rebuilding year for the Sundevils. The team graduated 10 seniors last school year, yet a strong group of underclassmen has stepped up, showing impressive potential and a commitment to growth. Their first-place finish is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and positive team culture.

The EVHS Bowling Team will continue their season as they travel to Artesia on Friday, January 16, ready to build on this momentum.

Beyond competition results, the EVHS bowling program emphasizes sportsmanship, perseverance, and teamwork, providing student-athletes with opportunities to develop leadership skills and represent their school with pride. With so much young talent, the future of EVHS bowling looks bright.

Congratulations to our Sundevil bowlers and coaches on a fantastic season so far! 🎳🔥
