SB9 Mail-In Ballot Election: Supporting Our Schools
The SB9 2-Mill Levy Election is an important opportunity for our community to continue supporting students in our community which includes the Española Public Schools and McCurdy Charter School. This mail-in ballot election provides essential funding for technology, safety improvements, school maintenance, and student resources. The SB9 levy is not a new tax; it is a continuation of an existing 2-mill levy that has supported our schools for years. These funds help ensure that students have modern classrooms, safe transportation, updated security systems, and improved learning environments.
The funding generated through SB9 directly benefits students by providing classroom computers and software, library improvements, fire alarm and security systems, playground and athletic field safety upgrades, PE equipment, and disability access enhancements. It also ensures that our facilities are properly maintained, allowing students to learn in inviting, safe, and comfortable environments. The continuation of this funding is critical in ensuring that schools have the resources needed to provide students with high-quality education and safe spaces to learn and grow.
This election is conducted entirely by mail-in ballot. To ensure your vote is counted, ballots should be mailed no later than March 25, 2025, so they are received by the county clerk’s office by April 1, 2025. Voters also have the option to drop off their ballots at the county office. Your participation in this election helps shape the future of our schools and ensures that students continue to receive the resources they need.
