Extended Learning Time Program (ELTP)

Extended Learning Time Program (ELTP) is a strategy intended to increase the amount of time students are learning, especially for the purposes of improving academic achievement and test scores, or reducing learning loss, learning gaps, and achievement gaps. Espanola Public Schools will implement an Extended Learning Time Program for the 2021-2022 school year. ELTP Program requirements to be implemented in include:

1.  The school is in session for a minimum of 190 days per school year (with at least 5.5 instructional hours per instructional day for kindergarten through sixth grade and 6.0 instructional hours per day for seventh through twelfth grade).

2.  The school provides for a minimum of 80 non-instructional hours for professional development in SY2020–21 for instructional staff.

3.  The school provides after-school program opportunities for academic learning or extracurricular enrichment to students that do not supplant federally-funded programs.
