Bobbie is entering her third year as the Superintendent of Española Public Schools (with the exception of a one year gap in SY 2016-17).  

Bobbie also served the Santa Fe Public Schools for a number of years as Superintendent before retiring in 2012.  Prior to becoming Superintendent of Santa Fe Public Schools, Bobbie served as a middle school teacher, elementary principal, director of curriculum and instruction, as well as associate superintendent and deputy superintendent.

During retirement from the public school system in New Mexico, Bobbie worked for the New Mexico Coalition of Educational Leaders as the facilitator for the Aspiring Superintendents' Academy, and conducted professional development and training in several areas related to public education.  She also served on the Santa Fe Children's Museum Board of Trustees for a few years.

Bobbie is currently the President of the New Mexico Retired Superintendents Association (NMRSA); serves as an ex-officio member to the Board of the Española Public Schools Education Foundation (EPSEF) and was recently selected as the Vice-President of the Rio Arriba Youth Services Provider Partnership (RAYSP).

Bobbie is a native of Lubbock, Texas and holds a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education.  She has K-12 certifications in Reading and Language Arts.  She has a master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of New Mexico.  She comes from a family of educators, has seven grandchildren that inspire her daily to continue her work in public education, and she loves a great debate on just about any topic related to education.
